472% more leads, 84% lower cost per lead
Over a 3-month window, Livingstones saw a 472% increase in leads while cost per lead dropped 84%.
The challenge
Livingstones Garden & Home is a South African retailer selling outdoor power equipment and garden products like chainsaws, blowers, pressure washers, heaters and woodburning stoves. The business is owned by David Dunkley. During the baseline period, they were generating 18 leads at R1,265 per lead.
What we did
We restructured the Google Ads account around the products that actually sell, and rotated the focus to match the season — heaters and woodburners in winter, blowers and shredders in spring. We added negative keywords to cut out the searches that were burning budget on the wrong products. We also tracked customer journeys on the site so we could spot checkout issues and fix them with David's team.
The results
In the following 3 months, leads jumped from 18 to 103 — a 472% increase. Cost per lead dropped from R1,265 to R207 — an 84% reduction.
